SheTalks – A business networking event exclusive for female entrepreneurs and innovators across Dubai

SheTalks is an initiative by Creative Zone to provide female innovators an afternoon of networking with fellow entrepreneurs, innovators and professionals over delectable food and drinks.

The session has a lineup of leading entrepreneurs who will be taking the guests through their entrepreneurial journeys and giving glimpses of their challenges and how they powered through. It will be an interactive session, and guests will be encouraged to ask questions and share their stories.

The topics in this session are Breaking Glass Ceilings: Women in Tech and Building a Supportive Network: Importance of Female Founder Communities.

Achasah Zipporah is the co-founder of Women Who Thrive; a Women’s networking platform based in the UAE which provide a 360 degree focus on Women’s Wellness. Achasah’s experience stems from an educational environment and has a strong background in learning & development. More recently, she has changed career path and is now an Executive Assistant within the Sports industry. Alongside her busy day job, Achasah has pursued a career as a successful business owner, host, and presenter. Women Who Thrive have recently appeared in Time Out Magazine in the ‘10 brilliant social groups to join in Dubai’ and earlier in the year had hosted the inaugural Women Who Thrive Award ceremony where they honoured and celebrated some of Dubai’s most thriving women. The platform holds monthly events and is soon to launch a website to provide women with knowledge on a variety of topics whilst providing them with a safe space to meet and network. Their events provide an opportunity for women who are local industry experts to come along and impart their knowledge to the attendees. An example of some of the topics they have covered are Financial & Business wellness, Nutritional wellness & Health & Beauty wellness.

Laity is an award-winning tech leader and data scientist known for her expertise in de-hyping all parts of the data lifecycle and building great data products on solid, maintainable foundations. She’s been described as a pragmatic disruptor—a badge she has worn proudly throughout her diverse tech career in industries ranging from real estate to publishing to online dating. She has held positions in data platform engineering, product analytics, data-driven growth, and data product management for companies that include Talabat (Delivery Hero MENA), Property Finder, Feeld, Astrolabs, Zoopla Property Group, and more. Dina has a BSc in Economics from SOAS University of London and an MSc in Applied Statistics from Birkbeck College at the University of London.

She is a seasoned specialist in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, holding an MBA and harnessing 17 years of professional experience spanning 40+ countries and 6 continents. Maja has helped organisations ranging from billion-dollar multinational firms to early-stage start-ups build operational excellence, unlock demand, and execute strategy in the most challenging environments. She is passionate about making an impact through business, fierce about diversity in the workplace and championing the next generation of leaders.

Maryam Ahmed Hassani

Maryam is the co-founder and CEO of Zealous, a networking app that makes meeting people and staying connected in the tech space intentional, easy and meaningful. Maryam is driven towards connecting people meaningfully and leveling the playing field of access and connections in emerging startup ecosystems. Following her graduation from NYU Abu Dhabi with a BA in Political Science, Maryam entered the innovation space joining EY as a strategy consultant where she most notably led on the Special Olympics Innovation Challenge and held a key role on the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) Accelerator Program. Currently Maryam is the Head of Trends & Innovation at the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) where she designs and implements strategic innovation projects focused on the advancement of the early childhood development field. In her free time, Maryam enjoys competing in polo tournaments and exploring marine life through scuba diving. Melissa is Recruitment Entrepreneur Middle East’s Local Partner, and is co-founder and operational to several award-winning UAE and UK-based companies. Leading up to her entrepreneurial career, she accomplished Honors in Law LLB with an acumen for Business Management and Administrative Law. She now leads groups in Dubai-ME, and continues to grow various startups to million dollar valuations since 2011.

Suegoli Sirjani

Sue (40) is a passionate and successful woman who has built a reputable reputation as being known to always go above and beyond to help & support others. Sue was born and raised in the UK but has been living in Dubai since 2015. She is currently working as an operations Manager at a financial firm while also taking on the responsibility of co-leading Women Who Thrive. Sue's passion for helping women comes from her diverse background and life experiences of trying to find her tribe and life purpose. Her parents are from Iran and Lebanon, and she has experienced first-hand the challenges that women from different cultures face. Sue is a natural leader and has a talent for bringing people together. She is a skilled communicator and is passionate about helping women and the next generation of young women build the confidence and skills they need to succeed. Sue's dedication to empowering women is truly inspiring, and she is making a significant impact through her work with Women Who Thrive Above all, Sue is a firm believer in the power of LOVE and works to spread positivity and kindness wherever she goes.
